Guided tour of the exhibition Caimi, Jean-Marc & Piccinni, Valentina – Tropicalia
Europe is entering a period of climate change, and Sicily has become a laboratory for testing adaptations. The Tropicalia project reveals how the island is facing the challenges of tropicalisation – from the cultivation of resistant crops to the rise of tropical fruits such as mangoes, avocados and papayas, which are transforming the local landscape and identity.
The exhibition’s location among the hayracks in Studor, a symbol of the Bohinj cultural landscape, opens a dialogue between tradition and the future: between the heritage that has shaped our landscape for centuries and the contemporary global challenges that are changing agricultural practices around the world.
The hayracks of Bohinj become a venue for reflection on how people and communities respond to change – with innovation, resilience, and connection to the land.
