{"id":1876,"date":"2025-05-05T12:24:04","date_gmt":"2025-05-05T12:24:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oko.bohinj.si\/?p=1876"},"modified":"2025-09-28T12:40:03","modified_gmt":"2025-09-28T12:40:03","slug":"meet-the-oko-foto-festival-bohinj-2025-winners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oko.bohinj.si\/en\/2025\/05\/05\/meet-the-oko-foto-festival-bohinj-2025-winners\/","title":{"rendered":"Meet the OKO foto festival Bohinj 2025 winners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first edition of OKO foto festival Bohinj received <\/span><b>199 submissions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by <\/span><b>181 photographers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of <\/span><b>53\u00a0 nationalities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The call for entries 2025 was open from <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">26 February 2025<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">13 April 2025<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, inviting projects exploring various topics from nature conservation to evolving relationships between humans and the environment, including mainly documentary photography projects examining our connection to the planet, our impact on ecosystems, the ways landscapes are shaped by time and human influence, the bonds that tie us to the natural world, and initiatives of care and protection.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After several intensive days of reviewing all submissions, the jury \u2014 Marija Sko\u010dir, PhD, Nika Perne, Fernanda Prado Ver\u010di\u010d, Lars Lindemann and Stefano Carini \u2014 selected 10 outstanding projects to be featured at festival exhibitions, which will be displayed from October 16 to November 30 in Bohinj, Slovenia. Among them, one project was chosen as the <\/span><b>grand winner<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, who will be awarded a <\/span><b>solo exhibition<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at OKO foto festival Bohinj including production costs covered by the festival, a <\/span><b>EUR 1,000 cash award<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>travel expenses up to EUR 600<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to attend the festival\u2019s opening days (16 to 19 October) and <\/span><b>accommodation for 3 nights<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Bohinj.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The remaining <\/span><b>nine finalists<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be featured in <\/span><b>group exhibitions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with<\/span><b> production costs and three nights of accommodation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> during the opening days also covered by the festival.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additionally, the jury has selected <\/span><b>14 (fourteen)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> outstanding projects for a special <\/span><b>projection during the festival<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
