In a beautiful location by the Jezernica River, the artist will personally present her project and the process of photographing the theme of lithium. Jezernica, the second shortest river in Slovenia, flows from Lake Bohinj and is an important symbol of the connection between natural resources and human use of space – which is why the location of the exhibition is all the more significant.
Since 2020, the artist has been documenting the mining industry and its landscapes, transforming them into a visually sublime experience through a female perspective. In recent years, she has explored “clean energy” mines in Chile, where she has observed the impact of mining on natural ecosystems, local communities, and the global understanding of a green future.
In the Lithium dreams series, she combines documentary scenes and conceptual self-portraits in which she appears as a witness and participant in the landscape. Her body, wrapped in fabric and placed in the context of mining activities, invites reflection on the role of women in industrial narratives and the relationship between nature, technology, and humans.
